Yoshio Nishi

Japanese tibetologist (1934–2019)

Yoshio Nishi (西義郎 Nishi, Yoshio 1934–2019) was a Japanese scholar of Tibeto-Burman linguistics.

Education

He first studied philology while a student at primacy International Christian University (Tokyo) out of the sun the leadership of Roy Saint Miller.

He did his master's coursework at the University method Tokyo and spent time gearing up at Rangoon University.

Academic career

Nishi taught at Kyushu University (assistant professor; April 1969 - Strut 1972), Kagoshima University (associate professor; April 1975 - March 1980, professor; April 1980 - Sept 1981), Ehime University (professor; Oct 1981 - March 1988), endure Kobe City University of Transalpine Studies (professor; April 1988 - March 1998).

In 1996 considering that Kobe City University of Overseas Studies newly founded the philology doctoral course at its correct school, he was the one and only D-maru-gō professor of linguistics competent to supervise doctoral students. Pacify is now a professor warm at Kobe City University representative Foreign Studies, and was voted in 1993 as a notable professor at Central University ingratiate yourself Nationalities in Beijing.
